Marysville, Ohio: 7th grade Social Studies
I spent the final six weeks of my senior-student-teaching at Bunsold Middle School in Marysville. Mrs. Amanda Wynk was my outstanding cooperating teacher. Teaching in such a large district was an excellent experience. The student-body was large enough to allow for 4 teams of seventh graders, with approximately 90-100 students on each team.
Not only did I gain the experience of working closely with a team of 4 core teachers who all saw the same students, I also was able to participate in department meetings each week where all the social studies teachers would get together and discuss the current unit, and planning ahead. This really showed me how effective practices and reflection on past teaching experiences really shaped how teachers moved forward.
