About Miss Alexander
Welcome to my website!
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me;
I have one year of teaching under my belt; teaching 8th grade science and social studies in Groveport, Ohio at Imagine Community Schools, a charter school focusing on character development.
My license is grades 4-9 Science and Social Studies with an Elementary Generalist Endorsement; which means I can teach grades 4,5 & 6 the four core subjects, and grades 7 & 8 science and social studies. And I am a proud Alumni of Ashland University.
I am a teacher so I can positively impact the lives of my students, and spark their interest in learning. If I can help students find something they’re passionate about learning more about, I have done my job. It is important to me to emphasize that learning does not just take place in the classroom, learning is lifelong and there is no wrong way to learn. I use Multiple Intelligences to best carry-out this objective and help students find their personal strengths and grow with them.
My favorite teaching moment is that “lightbulb” moment, where students suddenly understand a concept that before had escaped them. Additionally, when students take a topic and ask questions beyond what we’re covering and I can see them thinking those “higher-order” questions, I am encouraged that I have been appropriately called to teaching.
